Summary: My husband and UI stayed at Gladys beautiful house for 11 nights over xmas and new years of 08/09. We had such a relaxing time there. The beach is very private and beautiful and the house was awesome. It had everything we needed. We cooked most nights to save money, although there were very nice places on the beach that we could have visited. We expected the jacuzzi to be working for us when we arrived, but we found out somewhat after that fact that it did not work...no biggy. We really enjoyed going to the Grand Bahamas, but felt like there wasn't really enough to do other than just lounge around, which don't get me wrong we loved doing, but other than Port Lucaya it almost felt like kinda a ghost town. We thought there would be more to do, and by that I mean even experiencing the culture. There was a lot of fast food joints and mostly americanized things, not so much Bahamian so to speak. So if you like to have the choice of a little more action, I would not recommend this island. Her house was beautiful...I felt like a queen and we cannot complain at all about the service she provided!! Thanks again so much Gladys...and best of luck!!
