Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Surrounded by a lush beautiful tropical jungle with a fantastic view of the town and a spectacular parade of birds. The cabin was practically new and clean. The infrastructure is a bit lacking. In hindsight, I would have brought a water filter because the tap water isn't treated and turned to brown sludge at times. Also the wifi is barely usable but I had a solid 4.5g cellular signal. A simple repeater would have improved it. The caretakers were very hospitable and welcoming. They seemed very sweet and genuine. Getting there from Medellin was pretty straight forward and easy but going to Pereira/Santa Rosa was very hard and complicated. In hindsight I should have asked the caretakers for advice ahead of time. The area is still relatively uncorrupted by tourism but I did have an uncomfortable experience with the moto taxi driver on the way there. Nothing too bad, just uncomfortable and unnecessary just to overcharge by an insignificant amount. Expect to pay from 10k-15k from/to town. Also bring mosquito spray!
