Cervantes is a small coastal fishing town in Western Australia, 2.5 hours north of Perth. Whether it’s a relaxing summer getaway, a cosy winter weekend or an adventure packed escape you’re after you will find it at this Cervantes beachside home.
The House…
Comfortably furnished to sleep six. One room with a queen bed and two with double beds, all with a fan and wardrobe. The kitchen contains all the essential cooking and dining utensils and a Caffitaly pod coffee machine. Out the back is an enclosed patio with table and chairs and a gas barbeque.
Big comfortable lounges fill the lounge room for those chilled afternoons spent watching TV, playing games or simply gazing out the window to the ocean. Both DVDs and board games are provided in the house. In the winter you can make use of the supplied firewood to get the fireplace cranking and enjoy a glass of wine snuggled by the fire or roast marshmallows with the kids. Be sure to spend summer afternoons sitting out on the front veranda, staring out at the stunning views, watching the town go by and the sunset, drinks and nibbles in hand of course!
The Location…
Located on the same street as many of the town’s most sought out facilities, this home is perfectly positioned. Across the road and you will find the beach, Café, a park with playground, bbqs, picnic benches, volleyball setup and plenty of grassed area for a game of cricket or to kick a ball around.
Just 300 metres up the road you can take a tour through the famous Indian Ocean Rock Lobster Factory and dine in the Lobster Shack to sample the beautiful, fresh, locally caught rock lobster. Continue your walk along the beach and you come to the town’s main jetty where you can watch the cray fishing boats bring in their days catch or drop a line and to see what you can catch yourself. It is not unusual to see a dolphin enjoying the lovely shore line as you walk the beaches here.
The town centre is only a ten minute walk from this home where you can get supplies from the general store, newsagent or liquor store. There are several quality places to eat out or get takeaway all within walking distance.
Be sure to make the short drive to the world renowned Nambung National Park, home to the Pinnacles, a desert area scattered with many ancient rock pillars. Close to town is Lake Thetis, a saline lake sheltering ancient marine fossils and home to many birds. As well as the beaches in town you could also take a drive out to Hangover Bay and Kangaroo Point for a picnic and some fishing.
If you are the adventurous type there is 4WDing in the sand dunes through the tracks at the end of the street or sky diving and Sea Lion Tours in close by Jurien Bay.
