Positive: Perfect for a couple of as in our case 2 friends as long as one friend doesn't mind a single bed. If you are staying in the lakes to walk or cycle it's a perfect base. You can walk or cycle from the door. The cottage was warm and comfortable. I took logs for the log burner but we didn't need them despite the cold Easter weather. It also has the added advantage of being 2 mins walk from Chester's by the River. Perfect for lunch/brunch on arrival or departure.

Negative: We couldn't get the towel rail in the bathroom to come on. Also the radiator in the main bedroom didn't get warm. However it wasn't a problem If part of your holiday is cooking at home in the evening after being out all day walking or cycling you are limited in what you can cook. The essentials are only in the kitchen and the knives are not sharp. We were only there for a long weekend so again it wasn't a problem.
