Positive: Although the village is located on a hill and the accommodation is in an area with narrow streets and steep slopes, overall the experience was a memorable one — thanks mostly to the host. At first glance, the hosts appear to be an elderly couple with a cold, seemingly rigid attitude who don't speak any English. However, they skillfully use modern technology to instantly translate Croatian or German (which they speak) into English or Romanian. Once you get to know them a little, you discover two very warm and welcoming people, always ready to help with anything they can, to surprise the children, and to treat them as if they were their own grandchildren. After spending a week in their company, we parted with gifts and hugs, as if for a future reunion. There are places that look flawless but feel cold and impersonal, and others where you feel at home, embraced by family warmth. We were lucky to have experienced the latter.
Negative: Definitely the narrow streets and significant slopes of the city.
