Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Despite a slight language barrier, the service was very warm and attentive. The highlight of the stay was the excellent and generous homemade breakfast, which was thoughtfully and partly adapted to accommodate a vegan diet. The rooms are beautifully designed in a boutique style, featuring a Smart TV and a comfortable medium-to-firm bed (queen size, although a king size would fit the space). One point to note is that the bathroom ventilation/AC can be quite noisy, which may be noticeable if neighboring rooms are occupied. In our case, however, we were the only guests, so the stay remained very quiet. Outdoor area is small but beautiful and well maintained, only downside are the power poles going right in front of/over it.

Negative: The Quinta also offers a small selection of snacks and light meals on request, though these are priced on the higher side - for example, Cabriz wine was five times the supermarket price and most of the Snack Items were significantly more expensive than in restaurants. Given that guests are not supposed to consume their own food in the outdoor seating areas, slightly more moderate pricing would feel more appropriate and welcoming.

Summary: A charming and relaxing stay with outstanding breakfast and very welcoming service in the heart of the Douro Valley.
