Positive: The unit when you get to it was nicely appointed and clean. The facilities were new and everything worked. Bed was comfortable and the room spacious. The lack of TV made us read for a bit longer which was no drama. Being close to the bush it was nice to hear the bird life in the early morning. The kookaburras competing with the Rooster next door.
Negative: Surprised there was no TV or Air con but the fan did a good job on the night we were there. The black out curtains were not and the unit was very light as soon as the sun came up. A night light in the bathroom would be useful. The biggest issue with the Retreat is the access. Either a very steep driveway or poorly maintained steps. We did not try to negotiate this in the dark so I don't know if there was any lighting. The bed had pillows that were like a cushion on one side and like a pillow case on the other which was a bit weird. We normally sleep with two pillows so used the cushion bolter which only covered 2/3 of the bed with so the bed felt cramped. No offstreet parking was a drawback
