Summary: The main building itself looks great and the lounge and restaurant have clearly been updated of late and are very classy. The food in the restaurant was of a fairly high standard and the staff very friendly. The part that lets the hotel down is the standard of the rooms in the adjacent building. The view was really nice, but the rooms are very tired indeed, with the shower in the bath (albeit powerful) something of a relic and I had to bend down to use it. The bed was comfortable, however, the scatter cushions smelt pretty awful and musty which wasn't great. Overall, a pleasant enough single night stay, but I wouldn't have wanted to stay much longer, simply down to the condition of the room rather then the service and food/drink areas.
