Positive: We really enjoyed staying the Historical Oscar Lofquist House. The owner kindly met us as we drove in (though I think it would still be easy to figure everything out if she weren't available). She was very helpful, explaining all necessary information to two weary travelers. The apartment was very clean, nicely decorated, and well supplied with everything one could need. We got in late and left fairly early the next morning to visit a relative in the area, so next time I hope to stay longer. The property is in a lovely historic neighborhood within 5 or 10 minutes of many fun destinations in Des Moines, including the art museum, botanical center, restaurants, Pappajohn Sculpture Park, science museum, etc. I have made many, many trips to Des Moines to visit family throughout the 54 years of my life, so I'm familiar with the city and can honestly say that the Oscar Lofquist House is in my favorite neighborhood!
Summary: We recommend this comfortable, quiet, welcoming, well-maintained, and convenient apartment!
