Positive: The house is quaint and homely, right on Forteleza Beach, 3 km from the arrival port in Brasilia. The rainforest was right at the back of the property. We had beautiful birds visiting every morning. Chris is the perfect host, kind, thoughtful, considerate- cooking wonderful vegetarian meals and snacks, sharing vital information about the island, and providing excellent company, while at the same time respecting my privacy and peace. Chris speaks English as well as Portunguese. The company of Juma, Frida and Nidje, the three cats, was a delight. I had a lovely double room- comfortable bed- with sun flowing through the window and lovely decorations. The soothing sound of the waves putting me to sleep at night. Meals were taken outside on the deck or inside at the large wooden dining table at the big window facing the ocean. It was such a pleasure to sit on the deck above the sand during the day listening to the waves, while reading or watching the changing moods of the ocean. The island is tranquil with no cars or motorbikes- riding a bicycle around was fun. I did many walks to explore the deserted northern beaches, the lighthouse, the Big Beach, the Atlantic rainforest, the fort and Brasilia township. It has been the perfect place for me to relax and recharge my batteries. I liked it so much that I extended my stay by 6 days! I will definately come again.
