Positive: Four things matter to me, a comfortable bed, to keep warm, value for money, and the friendliness of staff. As such, this property exceeded all my expectations and whimsical "wants." I don't expect to be waited on and treated like royalty. I would rather sleep under the stars in the desert or in a tree house in the jungle than a 7 star hotel. This hotel was less than half the price of the hotels nearer the city centre, and transport links into the city were not an issue with a regular bus service. The hotel looked dated, but this was part of its timeless charm, more of a family run "casa". than an actual hotel. The staff were amazing, Marguarita couldn't do enough for us, personally taking us back to the airport, not wanting to take any money, and giving us a gift on departure. Meanwhile, Franco, one of her staff, drove us into the city to the funicular railway station, which climbed up to the old town, which is well worth seeing. There is a big supermarket adjacent to the hotel, which opens till late, together with a good-sized carpark if arriving by car. I rarely go back to places, I will come back here because Marguarita was like family, also speaking very good English, and I believe French too.
Negative: There was some traffic noise, but so what.
