Summary: This was a great getaway from the Houston area. The house was fantastic, great design, good location, awesome deck, etc. The beds and furniture were comfortable, good A/C and wifi. It is decorated nicely and fits the theme of the area. We loved the master shower and the jetted tub. Had great communication with the owner. There were a few things not correct in the email confirmation and he was quick to answer the questions with corrections. We enjoyed sitting outside in the morning on the deck and especially at sunset. I used the propane grill to cook some awesome ribeyes one night. There is an HEB not too far away to get stuff. The place is well stocked. There is even a crock pot (which I used) and an insta-pot! As usual, I always bring my own spices to cook with since we never know what a rental will have. I recommend you do that for this place, if you plan to cook. We also brought bottled water to drink at the request of the owner. There is a Keurig/coffee maker combo, but bring your own k-cups. My only wish was that there would be a bigger skillet pan, like 12". The largest one in the kitchen is probably the smallest in my kitchen, so it took a bit longer to cook some things on the stove. One other thing I would recommend to bring is pillows, if you like a lot. We brought a few extras (past experience with rentals) and it helped. The owner gave great instructions for the lock. But, I have never seen one like this before and, to me, the time limit was a bit short to enter all the numbers and make the turn. My teenager was able to get it on the second try, so we just let her do it. I was determined not to let my teen be the only one that figured it out, so I finally got it after a few tries. Hint, you have to memorize the code and not keep reading it between segments. We used the house as our jump point to several State Parks, Lakes and Forests that are in the area. We love to explore, hike, have picnics, and this definitely gave us the opportunity to do so. We would definitely stay here again.
