Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: This charming house is very spacious and supplied with everything you need. It is surrounded by a large garden, with many trees, roses, lavender and wildlife. Don't forget to bring your binoculars for we've spotted many birds (like owl, yellow oriole, woodpecker), hare and squirrels. The location is very central in the Loire region and many touristic spots are within a 45 min drive. The beds are very good, comfortable shower, the SPA is nice, and due to thick outer walls the house is at a constant 18-19 degree C. Communication with the owner was good, quick, friendly and (for us very nice) in English. All the ingredients one would need for a relaxing holiday.
Negative: The ventilation in the house was absent (besides from opening a window) so inside it was slighty clammy. And due to the natural surroundings be prepared for insects, bugs or mosquitos. There is a cat living on the premises. It's a sweet animal, but it keeps begging for food until you give him some knibbles (profided by the owner). But you have to keep an eye out, or keep all the doors shut, for he likes to sneak into the house. Also he will bring you a freshly caught mouse or eat it for breakfast in front of you and leave its intestines on the grass. It's not the cats' fault, for he is just being a cat, but if you are not a cat lover, or you are allergic, then this house might not be the place for you.
