Summary: The property was "as advertised" but really the beauty of this space couldn't be captured by the photos. It had modern amenities but felt like you were stepping into the past at the same time. The covered but open porch overlooking the Illinois River was also more stunning than the photos could reflect. We used it as a retreat with a small group of pastors (8 of us) and it was well loved by everyone. Highly recommended! Beware: there's only one bedroom on the main floor and the rest of the beds and bedrooms are upstairs so this space should be limited to folks who are steady on their feet and it's definitely not a good space for families with young children in my opinion for the same reason. Otherwise, book it!
