Baldo’s house was the old watermill of the village of Corsagna, ancient medieval burg within the municipality of Borgo a Mozzano, located 360 meters above sea level, just 30 minutes drive from the city of Lucca and within driving distance of one of nature's most beautiful areas of Tuscany: the Garfagnana valley between the Alpi Apuane and the Apennino Tosco-Emiliano. The magnificent location on which the house stands affords splendid views: over the valleys, the village and the surrounding hills and mountains.
The house is dating back to XIX century, a part of the structure was used as a "mill" for the production of flour, shown by the “gora” (small artificial stream that once brought water to the mill wheel) still crossing the garden and another part was used as a "crusher" to produce local extra virgin olive oil, still visible “pressa” and the ancient stone wheel “molazza”. The entire structure has been wisely renovated by Baldo, grandson of Miche and Pia, while maintaining its original character: the external structure of the cottage has been left unchanged and renovating the interior spaces in faithful Tuscan style. Perfect for a holiday for up to 6 persons.
The property has a large garden (150 sqm ) crossed by the “gora”, small artificial stream that once brought water to the mill wheel, equipped with above ground pool (meters L4xL2H1), with barbecue, tables, chairs and sunbeds and a wide outdoor patio, in front of the main entrance, which is accessed from the entrance gate.
The total area of the house is 120 square meters divided on three floors.The ceilings are made with flat terracotta bricks and wooden beams and rafters, stone walls, cotto and parquet floors. The furnishing is in the Lucchese style.
On the middle floor is a spacious and bright living area with large LCD television, sofa, comfortable armchairs and a large fireplace and fully equipped kitchen area with dishwasher, refrigerator, stove with oven, microwave, kettle and American coffee maker, with a small covered porch leading to the garden.
Upstairs is a bedroom, Aunt Gina’ s room, with king size bed (71in × 79 in) also divisible and a single bed. Downstairs two more bedrooms: Aunt Irene’s room, with double bed (51 in × 75 in) and the Grandparents Michael and Pia’ s room, with king size bed (71 in × 79 in) also divisible and with the possibility of an extra single bed and two bathrooms with shower (one also with bathtub). All rooms have windows with panoramic views and parquet floors.
Each summer the country's young people of Corsagna create a natural pool in the creek Pizzorna few steps from home.
