Situated on the southwestern Rhode Island coast, Weekapaug has for over a century been a discreetly hidden gem for beach vacation lovers who value the feeling of being minutes away and worlds apart. The Catbird Seat was duly named by our father because of its ideal location and remarkable views. It is one of few homes with upper level living to maximize the panorama both indoor and out, as well as rare proximity to beach, tennis, surfing, sailing and your morning newspaper, all via a short walk. Find your toes in the sand in a less than a five-minute walk down the beach path. Within a few miles, neighboring towns of Watch Hill, Misquamicut, Shelter Harbor, and Westerly offer a variety of local and landmark restaurants as well as services including water sport rentals, golf, library, theater, movies, shopping, and so much more, yet still return home at the end of the day to your raised deck and toast the sunset over the ocean while listening to the waves crash on Fenway beach. The Catbird Seat offers spectacular year-round ocean views from almost every room, but especially the upstairs living room, dining room and kitchen which all access a large deck wrapping around the ocean end of the house. A double-facing fireplace creates the focal point for the open floor plan. Abundant indoor and outdoor seating maximize the panorama. Sliding doors and fans hung from cathedral ceilings keep the ocean breezes and surf sounds filling the house. Upstairs accommodations include a king bedroom suite with private bath, as well as queen and twin bedrooms that share a second bath. A fourth bedroom with queen bed and private bath is located downstairs for a total of 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths, allowing 8 guests. Leave the sand outside with a convenient fourth outdoor hot shower. Utility room has washer/dryer and iron/ironing board. Updated kitchen appliances and outdoor grill make enjoying meals on the deck a pleasure. Plenty of parking for multiple cars and/or boat trailer. A wooden painted beach box (another Weekapaug tradition) is at the entrance of the beach and holds beach chairs, boogie boards, and sand toys available for the enjoyment of guests of The Catbird Seat.
