HISTORY
Known as the Engelmann-Muench House, this cottage was built in 1858 by Martin Engelmann, a wealthy German immigrant. The caliche block vernacular double house sits on a site which was once part of the Alamo farmlands. The structure is a good example of a once-common San Antonio house type and features original built-in end chimneys.
If you explore the neighborhood, you will find a new bar scene developing with Road Map Brewery, La Roca, Bentley's, and more. Of course, restaurants and food trucks are in close walking distance on North Alamo, Houston St and the Riverwalk. Don't forget to sign up for a ghost tour.
