Originally developed in the 1860s, this brand-new house completed in 2023 now sits on a two-acre property that Acadia National Park borders. You can walk out the back door and hike, bike, snowshoe, or cross-country ski into the Blackwoods area of the park and connect to the trails and park loop road. The trailhead for the South Ridge Trail of Cadillac Mountain is 200 meters down the street. This is the prime location for hiking up the mountain to catch sunrises and sunsets. The free seasonal bus route stops at the end of the driveway and gets you around the Island and Acadia National Park - the Island Explorer. The town of Bar Harbor is five miles away.
This gorgeous home is a European-style passive design and features native Maine wood, pink granite quarried in Otter Creek, and modern, hyper-insulated doors, walls, and windows. The first floor features a sunny open floor plan seamlessly combining the living room, dining area, and kitchen. Gather in the welcoming living area featuring a wood stove and comfortable sofas throughout. This is a great spot to unwind after an exciting day exploring the area!
