The Riverside Getaway is a two-bedroom apartment located above Getaway Motor Cafe in downtown Carver, MN. This historic building has been restored with care and offers guests a place to rev up, connect with those they care about, and rest. All wheels welcome @riversidegetaway
Designed by Studio Grey, our space preserves the integrity and character of the historic building while modernizing and creating something new. Luxury finishes and plenty of natural light create a warm and welcoming Nordic Modern vibe.
The entry opens up to a cozy living room with a Jøtul fireplace and beautiful kitchen that is perfect for cooking, entertaining, and hosting a small gathering. With two bedrooms [Queen beds] we offer up to 4 guests a restful night’s sleep.
Built in 1871 as the Stephen Kult clothing store, our building is at the core of Carver’s National Historic District on the Minnesota River. Getaway Motor Cafe is located downstairs—enjoy coffee and a drink in the evening! Our cocktail, wine, and MN beer program is currently Thursday-Saturday, but will expand for summer.
Easily walk to Carver’s shops, ice cream parlor, bars and restaurants—or along the river levee for bald eagle sightings. We’re located at the end of the Minnesota River Valley Regional Trail system, which heads east into Chaska on its way to Fort Snelling and features beautiful river landscapes.

You'll have access to the entire second level and private balcony, from which you can hear the creek bubbling and birds singing! There is no shared space between the cafe and rental unit other than the cafe patio.
A keypad is located on the door at the top of the stairs for simple, keyless entry. The entry code will be provided the day before your arrival. The code is changed after every guest.
We offer contactless check-in and check-out but are easily accessible via the app. Please contact us if you have any questions!
Downtown Carver is a charming neighborhood located next to the Minnesota River. The area is known for its historic buildings and small-town feel.

We have made every effort to minimize noise transfer between the two spaces, going above and beyond the building code. Some ambient noise from our cafe and patio is part of the experience.
The unit is located on the second level and guests use an external staircase at the back patio to enter the space. Patrons from the cafe may be seated at tables when guests come and go. The space is not accessible via elevator or interior stairs.
In an effort to maintain a secure premises, the space is equipped with exterior cameras only. There are no cameras on the inside of the unit.
