Summary: It's only fair to start with the approach to the hotel. It sits about 5 miles south of Redhill, and is situated on a country lane. Top tip: check in early (while it's still daylight), because if you go later (in the evening when it's dark), you'll probably here banjos. If you do; drive/paddle faster. Seriously though, the country lane in the dark can be a little intimidating the first time. My initial room was upstairs in the middle of a heat wave. Consequently the room was way too hot and I have difficulty with stairs, so I asked to change to something on the ground floor. They were able to find me a single room with the world's smallest WC/shower. Although one can't sit straight on that loo because the sink is in the way, the shower was excellent. The hotel is about half the price of others in the local area and looks quite dated, but I wasn't there for Instagram pics. I just wanted a base for the weekend. There were fresh towels and soap for me, and the room was out of the way of the foot traffic, so it was quiet. Decent sized TV on the wall, but I didn't get to use it, as my itinerary was full. Breakfast is served from 7 - 9am and costs around ยฃ11 There is also a bar, but again I didn't get to use it. Lots of parking out front. Even though the hotel was full, I was able to find a space for the car. The girls behind the counter are delightful and very helpful. All in all, I was there for a specific purpose, and it suited my needs perfectly.
