Positive: The appartment itself, in Block C of a very big condominium, is very spaceful, clean, nicely decorated, with very good beds and everything you might need while travelling in Borneo. Comfortabele because of very strong aircon and we liked it to have a washing machine to do some laundry. They owner is very helpfull. We could leave a lot of our luggage while going on a jungletour. After our tour we stayed another night in this place. Communication is very clear and fast through whatsapp. If you are just passing through Sandakan I would recommend it because the appartment itself is very nice and the owner very helpfull. Use GRAB when you want to go out for dinner. Sandakan has a couple of nice places to eat.
Negative: We didn't like the condominium from outside that much. It lookes like a place you'd expect in a very communist country. It was very heavily guarded at the front gate and near the swimmingpool. A lot of security around. You need to register (names, number of appartment, time you get in) when you want to go to the pool. You can't even bring a bottle of water. You need to go sit in a secluded area when you want to have a drink (there is a vending machine). Swimming pool is very big and nice when you just want to do your swimminglanes or cool down after a very hot day. It' not a place where we would like to stay more than one hour. The condominium from the outside is all white-isch. No colour, no decorations to make it look friendly or nice. A lot of steal closed fences. It makes you wonder why it is that heavily guarded. When inside the appartment you don't notice this, so that is a good thing.
