Darrin and Jennie have been best friends and married since 1988 and have enjoyed true hospitality for over 3 decades now. They have four grown children and have lived a lot of life with a lot o folks. They treasure peace and relationships. Health at every level is of high regard and they structure their lives to live life well. Comfort, convenience and quality are affordable essentials that they love to share... artists at heart, they love a solid, fresh, vibey aesthetic and care about the beauty of their surroundings.

We are "off the ave" on a darling side street with a lot of privacy. The history is rich. La Porte means "The Door" in French, and it is open to you! Read our guidebook for more information that will make your stay wonderful.
Entire house is accessible for guests except basement, garage, and locked storage closets. It is rented as a whole for your enjoyment and privacy. You can enter via public roads to the drive away and enter through the back door using the check-in instructions.
You'll feel right at home with the updated kitchen, updated bathrooms, and the many, comfortable sitting areas. The main floor bedroom offers a tv, en-suite with a rain shower and walk-in closet. The upstairs offers a bedroom with a full-sized bed and tv, a bedroom with 3 twin-sized beds, and another bedroom with a twin bed. The second story also has a full bathroom and game room! 1st floor ensuite king, patio, 4 manicured acres, piano, & chef's kitchen.
Driveway can fit 3 cars. Additional parking spots are available on Richards St (not South Ave). Additional parking available upon request. Having a car is recommended, as Ubers are hard to come by in the area. Train to Chicago is located in Michigan City (about 25 minutes).
