Positive: The host met us at the property and had prepared lovely treats including a cake she had baked and there were several items in the cupboard and fridge such as olive oil and margarine that we appreciated. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and we slept better than we do at home! The property is well equipped and quiet. Parking was at the property and very convenient and supermarkets and pharmacies are close by. We travelled to Imbros Gorge, Elafonisi Beach, and a little village called Theriso for Christmas lunch. All of those were worth visiting although the road to Elafonisi Beach in particular is a bit challenging with frequent switchbacks.
Negative: Coming from Canada many things were different and a list of where things are such as how to turn off the bright blue light behind the TV (a white switch behind the router for the WiFi) or where to hang the washing (a rack off the edge of the balcony opens up), the radiator in the bathroom is not operative etc. Plus a translation of the options on the washing machine which are in Greek would be helpful. The host met us at the property and went over some things we needed to know such as where the switch was to heat the water when it wasn’t warm enough on less sunny days. However I had a number of questions after that which they responded to very quickly and courteously but I felt uncomfortable having to bother them and it would have been easier to have had a list to refer to.
