Made of Cretan stones and wood and following the traditional Cretan architecture,Villa 2 is perfectly harmonized with the natural environment.The lush that surrounds the villa,has an incredible and primitive beauty, actuating the guests to make calm walks through the hundred old trees.Only a short drive from sandy beaches with crystal clear waters and a great base for excursions. Relax next to the swimming pool, experience the total serenity,enjoy the marvelous Cretan sun! Villa 2 has beamed ceilings, wooden furnishing and wrought- iron beds. The neat and compact living space on the groundfloor has a functional, well-equipped kitchen, a dining area,2 sofa-beds and a bathroom with shower. An internal wooden stairway leads to the mezzanine floor with a comfortable 150x200cm bed and a large veranda overlooking the wild and idyllic scenery with small villages, huge mountains and blue sea. Villa 2 is a part of a complex of 6 houses,located in a 7500 m² rocky garden which includes a large swimming pool (55 m²). While enjoying the sunshine, the poolside area with sunbeds and umbrellas is just the place for reading and doing strictly nothing at all. Xirosterni is a small village and part of the municipality of Apokoronas, in the regional unit of Chania. The location of the village is between two larger villages, Vamos and Kefalas, and approximately 30 kilometers away from Chania, in the northeast side. The name Xirosterni means dry water tanks. This picturesque village is approximately inhabited by 40 people who have built their homes traditionally, at an altitude of 240 meters above sea level. There are no hotels or other facilities of mass tourism. Visitors will only find rooms for rent or luxurious villas built traditionally and integrated in the beautiful natural environment. From Xirosterni village, there are excellent small roads close by putting a whole myriad of villages, seaside resorts and attractions within easy reach. If walking or cycling is your pastime you'll be in your element here. There are small roads and footpaths through olive groves and small cypress forests. Go and see the traditional villages and the surroundings of the Apokoronas area. Enjoy sampling little shops and tavernas in Vamos, Vrisses, Gavalochori, Kalives, Almirida and Georgioupolis. The seaside resorts of Kalives, Almirida and Georgioupolis offer the best beaches for swimming in the region. About 40 km away and easily reached by the National Road, Xirosterni sits almost midway between Chania and Rethymnon. Both towns with outstanding beauty are homes to a wide selection of historic places, but also to shops and restaurants. Xirosterni itself has a small grocery shop and a traditional kafenion located about 600 m from Viola's Apartments. The Kafenion serves drinks and small dishes with a real Cretan accent.
