Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: First of all, it's a really beautiful house and home, not just a well-appointed B and B. It's stylish in a traditional way throughout, with red tiled floors in the room and shutters on the windows. Beautiful plants in the garden and a lovely pool - that green is fresher and more inviting in real life than in the photos! The loungers by the pool are more comfortable than they look as well. Second, all the usual aspects, location, cleanliness, comfort, etc are exceptional. But for me, it was the helpfulness and friendliness of Hervé and Catherine that stood out - not only did he lend me his bike to cycle along the canal, but when I had a flat tyre (on my car) in the next village he rescued me after Hertz proved hard to reach, and even ferried me to the tyre shop - and changed it for me! - next day. A really special place to stay, with wonderful hosts.

Negative: I'd have liked a little thing of long life milk for the tea in my room!!
