The Space:
Cardwell by the Sea by Tiny Away is a tiny house set within Kookaburra Holiday Park. The holiday park is just a 40-minute drive from the rural town of Ingham. Just by the Cassowary Coast, the tiny home is close to many beautiful islands and the natural, coastal wonders Queensland has to offer. This includes Wallaman Falls, Paronella Park, Hinchinbrook Island, the striking blue Cardwell Spa Pools, and Mission Beach.
It's a cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with a well-equipped tiny home with well-furnished guest rooms, wide public spaces, and comfortable seating areas. Easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas-heated for hot showers).

Cardwell by the Sea by Tiny Away is located on the verdant southern tip of Tropical North Queensland’s Cassowary Coast, Cardwell is bursting with outdoor adventuring spirit. It’s a 40 minutes drive away from the rural locality of Ingham and an hour's drive from Mission Beach. Cardwell is wedged between golden beaches to the east, and the ancient canopies of the Wet Tropics to the west, there is no limit of things to do in Cardwell.
Our local recommendations:
- Cardwell Spa Pools is a naturally-fed, seasonal creek with bright, baby blue waters to take a dip in. One of the region’s geological wonders.
- Mission Beach is a tropical paradise filled to the brim. You can cruise by the beaches, snorkel by the reefs, and enjoy the amazing natural beauty of the coast.
- Hinchinbrook Island is for nature lovers. It’s covered with a rainforest that descends to a mangrove-lined channel in the west with bays, beaches, and rocky headlands.
- Paronella Park is beside Mena Creek Falls. The park is wrapped in an amazing range of 7,500 tropical plants and trees. Perfect for picnics and a day out with the family.
- Wallaman Falls is the highest, permanent, single-drop waterfall in Australia. It is part of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, home to some of the oldest rainforests on earth.

By car:
- 2.5 hours from Cairns and 2 hours from Townsville.
- 1 hours drive from Mission Beach
- 40 minutes from Ingham
- Reachable by both 2WD and 4WD.

- Please note that pet policies will be sent prior to arrival
- Smoking is allowed on designated areas on the property
- Mobile reception is good for Telstra and Optus; The rest has weak signal
- Please expect limited connectivity as the tiny house is set in a rural locality
- Pets are not allowed on beds and sofas, and clean after your pet’s droppings
- Don’t forget to close the windows and lock doors when leaving the tiny house/ property
- Please clean up after your pet’s shedding before checking out in courtesy of other guests
- Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and electronics (e.g especially chargers)
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
Important note:
- Keep in mind that outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present in the surrounding areas e.g. saltwater crocs live off the coast
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the [compost/cassette] toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
