Nestled in the Château de Bourneau’s private park and woodland of 16 hectares, La Forêt is one of our four generous-sized charming holiday cottages.
La Forêt Cottage is the sensitively converted original bakery to the Château, with its own private garden, swimming pool and fireplace. It offers a wonderful escape to nature in the unspoilt Vendéen countryside and is the perfect spot for a moment of calm with family or friends. Explore the glorious countryside or enjoy a moment of Hygge with a good book by the fire!
La Forêt still retains lovely period features such as the wooden beams of the sitting room, the upstairs striped wooden floors and the large fireplace. The main house sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms but there is also a detached garden maisonette with 2 extra bedrooms that is ideal for a couple with young children who are looking for a bit of calm away from the rest of the party. The main house and the garden maisonette meet around the private garden and swimming pool.
The Main House: (3-bedroom)
The open-plan ground floor of the main cottage is where most of the social rooms are found: the cosy living room, with its grand fireplace and the dining room that leads into the kitchen. The kitchen also has direct access to the garden – perfect for organising a meal by the poolside under the garden terrace.
Upstairs, there are two twin bedrooms with a centrally shared bathroom and a generous master bedroom with an ensuite.
The Garden Maisonette: (2-bedroom)
This is a ground floor level 2-bedroom cottage with a shared “Jack & Jill” bathroom in between. Both bedrooms have French windows that open up directly into the garden.
