Positive: The aesthetic and decor was beautiful. As we went in November, we did not spend much time outdoors but there is a wonderfully large garden and lots of parking, including ornate metal gates so it would be safe to let the little ones wander. The house feels in the middle of nowhere but is a short drive (10-15 mins) from local shops, Disneyland and Paris (30 mins). The host was absolutely lovely and met every one of our requests and left us alone to our own devices throughout our stay but was on the end of the phone should we have needed anything. The cupboards were reasonably well stocked with the basics, so we didn't have to buy salt/pepper, cooking oil etc.; all necessary appliances were provided too, except for a kettle - but a pan on the induction stove was just as quick & easy. Without a doubt we will be returning if we ever decide to visit the area again - if we can get space - I have no idea why this property isn't fully booked with a long, long waiting list!
Negative: Please do not read the "dislikes" and skip to the "likes". They are only tiny, minor tweaks to give the host feedback to help make your stay more amazing. We absolutely loved this property and you won't be disappointed if you stay here either. Although our host was lovely and showed us around the property, what would have improved our experience is a welcome pack/brochure explaining how to use certain items/devices (such as heating, dishwasher, washing machine & light switches [there are quite a few switches and it is not immediately obvious what they operate - perhaps some labels?]), and some basic information about the local services and area, such as restaurants, boulangeries, supermarkets. As foreigners who aren't familiar to the area, we spent a bit of time/money/fuel finding out things which locals may be a lot more knowledgeable about. A couple more, slightly larger towels would have been great too (although we didn't ask).
Summary: Gorgeous property, lovely host, amazing price.
