Summary: The location, the views, the host (Gemma) and her cooking & hospitality were all amazing. The Host: We were in contact with Gemma through whatsapp after we made the reservation. She was very helpful providing all the information we needed to explore the surroundings. All the information provided by Gemma helped us plan our day in the area. Gemma’s cooking is delicious and we would return to Mas Rubio just to taste her homemade Catalan cooking! The Hotel: We stayed in the room Hoastalet and it had a nice patio and a beautiful floor length window. Both offered amazing views to the farmland and highway. In the morning we were able to watch beautiful sunrise over the mountains. Hotels.com says it is a 3.5 star accommodation but we were a little disappointed to not see a television. But our experience made up for it. The room, bathroom, and the property were all maintained well. They are very clean. The building dates back to 1600s. The Location: It is a wonderful location to explore nearby medieval villages like Besalu and for some great hikes in La Garrotxa. This is one of our favorite hotels and we will definitely return again!
