Summary: We called ahead and they were kind enough to let us check in early as the room was not slept in the night before. In honesty, the score would have been higher had it not been for the fact that a few days before our stay, I received a message saying that work was being done on the outside of the hotel and there would be significant noise. The message was sent far too late to cancel and find another hotel. It also meant their car park was not usable which wasn't mentioned. The noise was unbelievable and reverberated throughout the hotel. It's a shame as, although dated, the room was very spacious. It was dated but clean. I just wish they had given us notice of the works.
