Positive: The location was amazing!! So walkable to so many cafes and just a block off of St. Germain Bvd. with lots of activity. Walking distance to the Île de la Cité, Pantheon and Luxembourg Gardens. There is also a massage spa within 1 minute walk, where I received the best full-body massage of my life!! The apartment was clean and cozy with plenty of clothing storage and good ac in main living and bedroom. The sofa was comfortable for sitting. We loved making cappuccino with the espresso machine and were glad there was a toaster. The host Delphine was lovely and accommodating.
Negative: Although we liked the apartment itself, it is on the ground floor to a courtyard, so it is quiet but there is no view because there are heavy shutters over them, so it is dark inside. It is also very, very dark in the building entry and hallway to the courtyard at night. Luckily I was not alone or it would have made me a bit nervous. There really needs to be a light on or a sensor at least at night for safety. The apartment really needs to be better equipped for guests. There were 2 hand soap dispensers with no soap in them, only 1 dish towel, a small amount of paper towels, 1 tiny hand soap for use in shower lasted only 1.5 days with two of us, no extra trash bags and the split trashcan was TINY, it barely held anything before needing emptying. Water gets outside of the shower and the floor tile directly outside of shower is very slippery. I promptly removed the filthy stained white throw rugs in both living and bedroom. Nowhere to put feet up to relax while sitting on sofa. The beds are just awful and need replacing! It is two twins pushed together and they have zero support to them. I am only 150 lbs and I bottomed out when sitting up in bed. We like a firmer mattress though, so if you like really squishy, you may like them. We ended up having to go to the store several times to purchase liquid hand soap, trash bags, bar soap and paper towels for our 6 night stay. I find this unacceptable. I will end this with transparency in that I am a vacation rental designer, so I design and fully equip short-term rentals to maximize guest experience for the homeowners. I understand that my expectations are likely higher than others but the basics should have been plentiful.
