Travel Purpose: business

Positive: Really well fitted out and presented. Nice gardens and place to sit out. Great views. Light and airy. Roomy generous showers and bath. Good tv. Comfortable beds. Parking (as it turned out). Easy access to the fells but position means you have to plan round property location.

Negative: Overblown security access arrangement. Poor information ahead of stay about parking, which was fine in the end, and difficulty finding exactly what the property was called, how the apartments are structured within it, and where exactly it was on the OS map. Inability to easily contact anyone at all about the property. Several disruptive fire alerts. Long access track and security gates. Grounds in decline. Many irritations- eg not enough shelf in bathroom, shutters trendy but mean serious tent effect. New kitchen scales but battery hidden away, and no way to unscrew compartment for it. Designers should be made to stay in properties for a week and fully use them.

Summary: Like the curate’s egg - good in parts, but we enjoyed it
