The nature of the surrounding area is beautiful, from the woods and meadows of the nearby Cansiglio, to the lake of Santa Croce and the nearby Dolomites. And everywhere the traces of the Great War, WW1, in the same places where the American soldier Ernest Hemingway drove the ambulance of his Farewell to the Arms. The La Villa was built in 1800 and completely renovated in 2006. Thanks to its dominant position on the valley, this house was used by the Austrian army as the seat of a military command.
