Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Beautifully appointed cottage, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Kitchen has everything you need: large fridge, air fryer. gas hob as well as electric induction plate. Books and games in the cottage. Plenty of hot water. Completely off the grid with high capacity solar so no load shedding worries. Cellphone reception is poor but this is not a problem as the Wi-fi is reliable and works well, A gas heater kept the cottage warm and cosy during chilly evenings. The hosts are friendly people, interesting to talk to and attentive to your needs. Service was excellent before and during our visit. The setting is lovely with expansive views to Bamboo Mountain and Garden Castle; a short walk up the hill behind the house or down to the road gives you views over the main escarpment. It is only 5 minutes by car to Drakensberg Gardens Hotel with all its amenities. There is a convenience store close by for anything vital you may have forgotten.
Negative: Nothing not to like.
